JBL Wave Beam 2

The JBL Wave Beam 2 are in-ear wireless headphones with a closed stick design that aims for an ergonomic fit and effective passive isolation. On the technical side, they are equipped with JBL's iconic drivers that deliver JBL Pure Bass sound, designed to emphasize low frequencies powerfully. The major upgrade of this second generation is the inclusion of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) backed by Smart Ambient technology (transparency mode) to hear the environment without taking off the headphones. They offer excellent battery life of up to 40 total hours of playback and add multipoint connection, allowing them to be paired simultaneously with two devices (such as a phone and a laptop) to switch between them automatically.

Pros

JBL Pure Bass sound with very energetic and fun bass for urban or electronic music.
True multipoint connectivity, a very useful rarity in this price range.
Excellent overall battery life (up to 40 hours with the case).
Very complete JBL mobile app to equalize and customize the controls.

Cons

Noise cancellation (ANC), although present, is quite subtle against high-pitched noises.
The design of the stick is a bit long and can be annoying if you lie on your side.
The charging case is completely made of hard plastic and prone to scratching easily.

The king of economic versatility: JBL democratizes premium features.
JBL knows exactly what it is doing with the Wave Beam 2: offering high-end features at an affordable price for the general public. The sound profile will immediately please most users; the bass has that vibrant 'punch' characteristic of the brand, although it sometimes subtly overshadows vocals in complex acoustic tracks. The big surprise is its multipoint connectivity, which works flawlessly and makes life easier if you work in front of the computer while taking calls on your phone. However, the addition of ANC should be approached with caution: it reduces the constant hum of a background engine, but don’t expect the absolute silence of a $200 pair of headphones. Despite this, the package it offers for its cost, combined with the robust app to equalize the sound to your taste, makes them one of the most well-rounded options on the current market for daily use.
